Introducing Computer

smallimg Javali program was the second program that we conducted after initiating Parinati. It stands as the first Basics of Computer Program and first program to the village students. It was conducted for the higher primary school students of Javali govt school. Most of the students were from impoverished background. When we asked about how many of the students had seen a computer hardly 3-4 students raised their hands and we came to know that only few of them had heard that word as well. Hence the challenge was to get to that ground level and explain about the computer and its working. Even students grasped whatever we thought quickly. At the end of the program we conducted quiz to have a check on the knowledge that the students had gained regarding computers. We were satisfied to know that students were pushed enough to the level that if one day computers came to their school they would identify the parts and their purpose.

Holding Hands

Ittamadu program was the very first program that we conducted in Bangalore and it was conducted as a mark of anniversary of Parinati. One new thing that was the flavor of the program was Stationary Kit distribution to the students. The kit consisted of Notebooks, Pencil and Sharpeners. The program was conducted to High School students and the plan was to provide Basic Computer knowledge followed by hands on session on the computers. Before doing that we distributed the stationeries to the students. Most of the students were from poor background and had difficulty in buying notebooks. Students utilized the notebooks given by our team for taking notes on the topic that we discussed during the session. Even the school staffs were happy with this initiative. As this initiative was a success we decided to conduct similar stationary kit distribution programs every year with at much bigger level to the necessitous students.
